“My Mother Said”
“My mother says”
I shouldn’t eat that yellow snow….
I should learn the know what is good, and what isnt so.
My Nanny tells me what to do.
I ask her why.. she tells me so… I can have more fodder for the army, my son.. Now look here.. Your mother told you not to eat that yellow snow..
My Daddy shows me videos on u tube.. from when he was a little boy.. They talk about making choices and days before CCTV.
I look at him and ask.. if he went on the beach… How its dangerous.. what about the sand, inbetween your toes…
My Daddy says…
In the days before your nanny, we ate our food of a glass plate, and drank out of china cups. We played football in the road and we could buy what we needed….But now the goverment is scared, we might make an floating parafin bomb, so we all sit in the dark, and drink out of empty cups.. so they can build an army, to protect what they dont own. But remeber son.. dont you eat that yellow snow!

He also saiys that minsiters are considering changing libel laws to give people access to cheap legal recourse if they are deflamed online….”
Saturday dec 27th
Then the same day the NSPCC claims
Web content ‘disturbing children’
The charity wants websites to direct children to help and advice
Three out of four children have seen images on the internet that disturbed them, an NSPCC poll suggests.
The charity is renewing its call for computer manufacturers and retailers to install security to stop children finding violent or sexual content.
Sorry BUT… get out of bed with the goverment will you and start facing the real world… More children are hurt in school than anywhere else in the UK!!!

Fair Trade Logo
Taken from there 2007 accounts
http://www.fairtrade.org.uk/includes/documents/cm_docs/2008/2/2007_accounts.pdf

Now I am not saying that fair trade isnt good. I think fair trade is very good, but i think it has to be a universal fair trade, as applicable to those who stand beside these charities in the uk.
Why can charities such as OXFAM claim fair trade, when they are putting antiquarian booksellers out of business, by gaining reduced prices at fairs, and online sales sites? Surely this isnt “fair trade”
read through the accounts… It makes “interesting reading”

I tell you what, lets just kill off the shops in Pwhelli.
It would be far less painfull for Gwynedd council to just tell all independant traders, that they are not interested in there counciltax or income in general, and just kill the great independance which has been central to Pwhelli as a Town for Many Many years.
Its amazing to think that in the 1940′s it was one of the Main farmers markets in north wales isnt it…
Well now Gwynedd council, having put an Asda and a Aldi there are adding a whole host of tourist items to it.. Small trader, QUIT whilst your ahead.. Oh and sue the council if you can as well
Developers have unveiled plans to regenerate a retail park at Pwllheli in Gwynedd.
The proposal by St Malo has a food superstore along with non-food shops, a car park and a road link between Cardiff Road and Ala Road in the town.
A spokesman for Gwynedd County Council said there would be “considerable constraints” to developing the site.
St Malo is also linked to a plan to build a bowling alley, cinema, hotel, restaurants and shops on Anglesey.
The company said it had secured 40 acres of land south of Ala Road in Pwllheli in 2006.
It said the proposal for a food superstore along with other shops would be on 18 acres of “developable land” which comprises low-lying grazing enclosures and brown-field land.

Baliffs free to break in to your home.
The government has been accused of trampling on individual liberties by proposing wide-ranging new powers for bailiffs to break into homes and to use “reasonable force” against householders who try to protect their valuables.
Under the regulations, bailiffs for private firms would for the first time be given permission to restrain or pin down householders. They would also be able to force their way into homes to seize property to pay off debts, such as unpaid credit card bills and loans.

So are you sure your details are safe?
Off course they arent.. Everyone in britain – nearly will be able to carry this information around soon, and do this too it..
Everyone uses these things.. Some people report they have lost them, others keep avoiding the fact.
council employee has lost a memory stick believed to contain confidential information about vulnerable children, it has emerged.
Neath Port Talbot council has launched an internal investigation following the loss of the data.
It said it had informed the relevant authorities but added it would be “inappropriate” to comment until the investigation had concluded.
One foster carer has claimed the information could put children at risk.

Sadly this time its sounds like a social worker has lost it.. next time it will be a care worker, then finally a manager.. but nothing will have gone missing… well you know.

So what is the history of gingerbread then?
Ginger is a spice from Indo-Malaysia. The ginger root was believed to sooth an upset stomach or to prevent a cold.
Each ginger species has a different culinary usage; for example, myoga is valued for the stem and flowers.
Garden ginger’s rhizome is the classic spice “ginger”, and may be used whole,
candied (known commonly as crystallized ginger), or dried and powdered. Other popular gingers used in cooking include cardamom and turmeric, though neither of these examples is a “true ginger” – they belong to different genera in the Zingiberaceae family.

I, Russell Means, due to the total absence of Tribal Government and its leadership, and as candidate for Tribal President and Chief Facilitator of the Republic of Lakotah, am declaring an INTERNATIONAL STATE OF EMERGENCY.
The reason for this declaration is two-fold: 1) The current life-threatening severe weather conditions and 2) The ongoing genocidal policies of the United States Government that still remain

SAFETY FEARS: Teresa McCarthy leaves Inverness Sheriff Court after giving evidence at her civil hearing
More Pictures
AN INVERNESS teacher said she was left in tears and hiding in her school’s staff room following the last of four violent attacks by a pupil.
Teresa McCarthy, 51, quit her job at Drummond School in Inverness because of stress and depression following the assaults by a 13-year-old boy, who is autistic.
Mrs McCarthy claims that her former employers, Highland Council, failed to protect her, and is suing the local authority for £250,000 in damages and compensation.
She gave evidence for a second day at a civil hearing at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
She told the court that she was first attacked in June 2001, with three more incidents following in August and September.
The boy, who was aggressive towards other staff and pupils, punched her and pulled her hair, leaving scratches on her face.
Mrs McCarthy said that, after the third attack, senior staff at the school, which caters for children with special needs, consulted educational psychologists for advice on how to deal with the pupil’s aggression.
And what must the poor boy be going through to have got to this stage!

None stop asha!
Wakes up at 6 am.. demanding breakfast. Daddy to the rescue.
7.30 mummy can hear her dancing and singing downstairs. So resigned to the fact of Asha wont be quiet drags herself out of bed. 8.30 were on our way to swimming lessons.
10. o’clock very proud of herself Asha ends lesson and we head home.
11. does some maths with her abacus.
11.40 makes a lift the flap book about swimming
12.40 lunch
1. 50 is current doing glass painting downstairs.
…followed by more adding up with abacus, followed by painting a chimp mask, and every five seconds being Asked where GRANNY is and being told she is naughty. Its 3.07, time we are normally trying to wind Asha down and no sign of granny I am NOT amused.
Considering for the last three nights Asha has been in bed for 6 this is not fair nor funny.

Banksy- street artist.
Now why do I find it ironic that this peice of work is being removed by the council..
..
Westminster City Council said it would paint over the 22ft-high (7m) mural on Newman Street, off Oxford Street, which is a criticism of CCTV in the UK.
There political excuse being this
Mr Davis, who is also chairman of the council’s planning sub committee, said: “I take the view that this is graffiti and if you condone this then what is the difference between this and all the other graffiti you see scrawled across the city?
“If you condone this then you condone graffiti all over London.”
The mural is painted on a wall of a building shared by Royal Mail and another business.
The council said once it was established who owned the painted wall the artwork would be erased.
Now considering the amount of work which councils have sold… I just hope the wall owner says NO!
Just because the truth is out and the council don’t like it!

101 BILLION of goverment misspending…
I recently found the tax payers alliance web site. This article made me laugh.. as many of us home educators struggle to find money to pay for fuel etc…..
Welcome again to the world of waste. In this new edition of The Bumper Book, Matthew Elliott and Lee Rotherham have unearthed a staggering £101 billion of government misspending – all paid for by you, the taxpayer.
But perhaps more usefully, the government could cut the tax burden of every household by over £4,000 a year.
Mind blowing isn’t it?
Here are just a few examples of where all of that money has gone:
* £280,000 on a conference addressed by Blair and Brown on value for money in the public services.
* £400 million on ‘cost control’ for the Olympic Games.
* £3 million by tax inspectors at HM Revenue and Customs on flights, including £2.1 million on flights to Scotland.
* Over £16 million on the creation and upkeep of VIP lounges in Heathrow and Gatwick despite the fact they are not government-owned.
* £100,000 on assessing whether £400,000 reportedly spent on modern art for seven hospitals was money well spent.

Our loyal goverment.
I have borrowed this from a home edd forum I am involved with. I think it says it all. I doubt it is totally up to date. The actual statistics are probably worse!
Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than
600 employees and has the following employee statistics:-
• 29 have been accused of spouse abuse
• 7 have been arrested for fraud
• 9 have been accused of writing bad cheques
• 17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
• 3 have done time for assault
• 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
• 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
• 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
• 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
• 84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year
Which organisation is this?
It’s the 635 members of the House of Commons, the same group that
cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest
of us inline. What a bunch of b*****ds we have running our country –
these statistics tell it all.

Childrens Human Rights Violation.. UK!
Your chance to support the New Statesman’s No Place for Children campaign: join Philip Pullman, Monica Ali, Nick Hornby and others in signing our petition calling for an end to the detention of children for immigration reasons
Dear Home Secretary,
We welcome the UK’s recent commitment to sign the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in full. In the spirit of that convention, we call on the UK government to end the practice of detaining children and families for the purposes of immigration control.
The government’s stated policy has been to detain children “only when absolutely necessary and for the shortest possible time”. In reality, however, children are often held for long periods in centres with inadequate healthcare and education. Many have been deeply traumatised by their experiences. This situation is unacceptable in a country which claims to adhere to high standards of human rights.
Our clear message is that the UK’s policy of incarcerating innocent minors must stop. Immigration detention centres are no place for children.

woops.. but is this how i really feel?
I recently wrote on a dyslexia forum
I am not a fan of schools as the child misses out on a lot of things they get to do at home…
like camping during term time with home edd friends, swimming in lunch hours, playing in airport muesuems, spending time with a mixed age range of kids for days at a time….. the list is endless…..
Seriously, i think current schools encourage a pack mentality, nulify personal space and opinions and destroy a childs individuality.. but this rant is for another forum :d
Now for a percentage of children this is there absolute experience. I am sure, but is it a general experience? Is this why we are home educating? Or is everyone who works in the school system so blind and me not. If I am so off target, why are people so unsure about sending there kids at three or four. Why do they doubt doing it?

Book Aid
Round Australia the hard way.
Now I agree totally to the poverty and the charity book aid international however, what I also have seen is that those in areas which allready have good reading skills and the children have books are also given free books. Whilst this is “nice” it is also a great waste of resources when those same books given 6 months later to the children who need books, but have destroyed – due to useage – there original books would be far better used.
When we lived in a well off village and everyone asked there health visitor for the books… myself included i thought this is nice, and yes it was a lovely book, asha enjoyed it, along with all her other books! When we moved out here, onto an estate where no one uses the library, but the kids love books, we havent received anything.. nor have these kids.
These kids are the kids who need books given to them! Libraries don’t even visit the area at kiddy favourable times (3 o’clock on a friday once a month the community library comes here) gwynedd council
Mum isnt going to take the children to the library every week.. These are the kids who need targetting, not the ones who allready go to the library!
