After lunch, and after the css and html had been put to bed, Asha, Steve and I headed once more over to Dinas, to enjoy the later afternoon sun, and the tranquility of an empty beach once more..

We found another dead crab,  which had lost its shell, so Asha wanted us to dig it a grave and bury it.. So we did..

She then enjoyed a time paddling with Daddy, and splashing about in the COLD water.

and half the front garden, the pretty bit with the pond in..

I noticed tonight some of the honesysuckle is out.. so i just need to get some more pics tomorrow..

From inside the quarry mens homes, different items from the different years. Can you name them?

We went on Thursday with some friends, we didnt try and see all the way around, as it is fairly local to us, and Asha (and I ) was very tired by now.

A log saw,

The length of these was about 1.5 meters long!

There is a series of terraced houses at the national museum, Asha particully liked the babies crib in this house.. :d

however Asha was busy colouring in a picture of the houses,, much more interesting than her ice cream or orange juice!!!

And we went to the cafe, and I just couldnt resist this picture!

Not sure the metal fence was very scared of her though..!
and so she road her bike at CLASS, and had a wonderful time…

After this, she played and played, and i took this snap of her!

Asha found this quite an interesting challenge on Saturday, but i think she has done a fair attempt, also please note, she as always only had the primary colours and white to work with

Kents Cavern

First of all we went and discovered the kids zone. Asha had great fun, digging for precious stones, and finding the remains of Ammonite, Coral and Bivalves.

After all her hard work, she found all of these!

She then went on to have a go at brass rubbing.

a lovely picture of an Ammonite followed (need to take a photograph of her picture still) we also did some hand drawings, and painted the mask of a tribal person.

Prehistoric Cavern, dated back to 30, 000 years ago.

The cave preserves an extraordinarily rich record of Pleistocene mammals, and has yielded some of the earliest human artefacts known from britain. Recent research has shown that the cavern possesses the most complete record of pleistocene glacial and interglacial climatic cycles of any site in northwestern Europe.

The South Devon Karst, ( a landscape that develops on rocks that are more soluble than usual, where the dominant process is dissolution of the bedrock. the most common features of karsts are : closed depressions of variable sizes, and underground caves, which take all the drainage, leaving little drainage on the suface. [The most common rock for Karst is carbonate] Karst, is 20% of the earths surface. ) is one of the few limestone areas in britain, that was not over run by the Pleistocene ice sheets. The cave has accumulated both sediments and calcite speleothems for more than half a million years. It is developed in the upper half of lincombe hill. Both the hill and the cave are now small remnants of a larger system.
