Bed.

Been in bed for best part of four weeks. Asha’s education is continuing, but daddy is currently holding the reigns..

Hoping my energy will return in time.. Asha is happy, and is still meeting with friends, and getting to her group. Just without mummy.

Life goes on..

OUCH!

There is nothing more disheartening that believing your disability has gone away, and doing all the fun things I have been doing the last few weeks and then Wack, wollop BANG.. I couldnt get out of bed this morning. It took me to 11 am, to move my legs, then mid day to hold my own weight…

I am sore, battered and frustrated once more.. The trusty chariot, is going to be making some more tours i feel the next few weeks, and i am sad, because i had hopped i was managing my disability better..

OUCH!

Asha on the other hand, has had a reminder of why mummy cant do stuff, as today and yesterday she has been fetching carrying, and on the whole HAVING to behave herself.. and as always, she has been GREAT at being my little Angel…

She has even cleared up her toys before bed.. and helped sort her room out, with a friend, so she now has a double bed we can both sleep in, in her room! Her idea!

Bimbambozzle.

We have been going to the fun days at Penrhyn Castle, with a friend who is a child minder, who is also home schooling.

This week the fun day was Knights and Princesses. Being slightly insane, we decided to challenge each other to wear a dress. I decided to wear my wedding dress, and D found a lovely purple dress to wear.

Not perfect enough for my little girl, she also got picked out to help Bimbamboozle to do his magic, which even tonight – she is talking about, and saying how wonderful he is, and how funny it was when he changed a nappy… so yet another picture coming up..

We also went around the castle, and looked at the play room, and spent some time looking at the big trains in the old stable blocks..

Great fun.

Work?

Asha woke up with a horrid cold this morning. So we didn’t go shopping or to gymnastics as planned.

Instead we wrapped up warm, and stayed at home. Asha has done some play with her toys, watched some videos with daddy, and played on the cbeebies web site.

One of the games is to make a model village, doing point, click and drag operations with the mouse. This is the result of her first attempt of this. I am very impressed!

Recovered… Well sort off.

Asha at least has been a bit brighter today. She didn’t ask once for the TV, or even her computer to be put on.

So what did she do today then? This morning she and I read a few dozen books in my bed. Whilst eating Stollen, and drinking coffee..

After lunch.. cold meats and cheese, I did a bit of nothing, whilst she played with her toys in the lounge, and generally used up her energy. If only I had 1/20th of her energy, I would feel human..

After a while, Steve and I finally agreed to help her make her gingerbread house, which Granny had bought for her. It is now sitting proudly in the corner of the “living” room – we must decide on a name for this room!

After she had completed this mammoth task, which I was really impressed with her concentration throught, off she then did a bit of jumping around untill eventually she asked me for something interesting to do again. I supplied her with christmas cards to decorate.

So far she has done 6, she has about another 5 to do I think!

This evening, Asha asked me if every week after Wednesday she could have two days at home, as she enjoys it. I would like to myself.. I wonder if we can do it?

I “should” get some pics up of her creation soon.

Those… ****** Fireworks.

Every night this week they have kept Asha awake. I am now really starting to get annoyed with them.

Anyway today we had a lazy day. I didnt get much sleep lastnight, so didnt make it over to Fords again, or to swimming in portmadog.

We did eventually get to Pwhelli this afternoon however to get some jobs done we were going to do on Thursday. This leaves Thursday nicely clear for us, which is great. As I hope to pick some boxes up tomorrow, and pack them. and then do some more on Thursday.. We may do a trip through to Bangor on Thursday to sign paperwork as well… No us excited.. really…

Asha has played outside.. done some maths with daddy, and drawn a lovely picture today for me. She also sat and watched the roal dahl video with me again, played with her teddys, been out for lunch, and chosen which items to buy for ff for her birthday. Only home edd kids at age 10 would want plates wouldnt they!… O.k. not quite “plates” but willow patten plates, cos they collect them!

Oh well thats sorted, so hopefully now, all we have to do is wrap them, make lunch for S and A tomorrow, and I can get to bed soon, as i am sitting here exhausted.

So the weekends over…

And what have we done?

Friday afternoon- was spent at a home edd friends. There was 5 children aged 4 – 12, playing at halloween games. They all had a lovely time, playing at ghosts and trying to see who could make the most noise.

They played catch with balloons and basically enjoyed them selves. On the way home we talked about halloween and how it was the day the souls travelled along the earth, and that Saturday was all saints day.

As it was J and K’s wedding aniversary today, Asha also made them a card.

Asha went trick and treating with her friends in the village. She really enjoyed herself. She then had a bath, and having drunk some bath water, was sick.. Silly girl. She slept well though.

Saturday. We didnt do swimming, as Asha still has a bit of a cold, so we just chilled out really. Asha did some reading with me, and we read a load of halloween type books. We Also did some painting, and Asha played with the two little ones next door, as the weather was surprisingly mild. So she played on the trampoline, bikes and generally did what kids do.

Sunday – another day at home. Asha did her normal morning routine and then we also made a book about the food colourings we tested with coffee papers a few days ago. We also made a weather clock for one the kitchen wall.

This morning in bed, Asha and I played around with days of the week and there sequence, we also did some fun games about months. April is the month for snow, and christmas is in February.. didn’t you know that! ;) NO mummy.. April is your birthday, and Christmas is in December mummy!

We also talked about the term “dont” this is because when ever I say to Asha.. Dont do.. something she does it anyway :d

Asha enjoyed playing with about 15 kids in next doors garden tonight as well. We let her have a late night, as all the kids were out playing. Exhausted she went to bed, just with daddy reading to her tonight.

She also made a

Sunday….

for the last few weeks Asha has not wanted to play out or anything on a sunday as she has been very tired, after very busy weeks. But this afternoon she has enjoyed playing with two little ones who also live in the road.

After running around outside and riding there bikes they came inside and took over the living room. Blankets out and tucked in they sat and watched some camberwick green for a while, whilst playing with the fuzzy felts I finally got out of the loft yesterday for Asha. You would think it was some really expensive present the amount she has been playing with them. I love toy rotations!

They then found all her toy cars – also just out of the loft, and once again they played and played so for about 4 hours today I have had three children aged, 2, 3 and 4 playing in our front room. And they were so happy!

Time flys buy when your a passenger on a train….

I cant seem to find the energy or inclination right now to blog. I think i am just in soo much pain and Soo tired.

Asha is still loveing Gymnastics.

She is also enjoying her swimming lessons, especially now we have changed pools.

She is doing a week long course during half term as well. Its every morning but as I am paying for her lessons and this week is free! I thought.. Why not. Plus it will tire her out for the week, and as no one needs to go into the pool with her I wont be as exhausted!

She is still doing swimming with home edd friends on a Tuesday as well, which she loves.

She spent a day at the beach on Monday – Its mid october!

She is desperate to go back to Gwerin. I think we will try for January. Hopefully she will be over the food problems by then and I will feel stroger.

Steve is still looking for suitable work… He would like to be off benefits. Our OU course materials have arrived for L196- they look good.

I feel crap. I look crap, my balance is crap.

Quiet Potter at home

This morning Asha played with her daddy, after waking up FAR too early for any of our likings.

Then she decorated a white tea shirt with some t-shirt decorating pens I bought in a tescos’ reduced sale one time.  After this she played at the kitchen table untill lunch time drawing and playing.

After lunch Asha and I did some reading from the old ladybird Peter and Jane books. I like the dog….

We then did “get set to read” puzzles from the ELC they are a quiz which asha has to find find the corresponding item. today we did : find the partners, and find nearly the same. She did very well.

After that I managed to get her to play with daddy upstairs for a while, untill a parcel arrived so steve had to come downstairs.. and yes she is still down here!

Well an interesting day!

What did we do today then?

Another section of painting by number, no 33 was painted in her picture.

She decorated a plate which was a present she got for her birthday, which she enjoyed doing. In doing it, she learnt how to draw a basic flower, which she was VERY pleased with. Her copying skills have really erupted this week.

She copied the word Mummy out beautifully, and Asha. I will try and get a photograph of her work up this week sometime.

She sat and played in the lounge at making food, and copying letters using peices of wood. As the bits of the letters.

We read a Elmer the elephant book this morning which she loved.

We watched the closing ceremony of the olympic games and talked about Greece, and why the Greek flag was flown on the last day of the games.

greek flaf

greek flaf

We looked at the other flags flying – Peoples republic of China,

olympic rings

olympic rings

olympic flag and

union jack and said the significance of them. -

Asha wanted to know why the welsh dragon wasnt there… Umm anyone care explain!

Asha danced to the music, loved the big wheels the dancers the riding on and said she prefares gymnastics to the trapeze artists.. I was rather pleased about this!

She danced like the rather beautiful chinese dancers, and enjoyed herself.

So for a day which I felt awfull in, Asha seems to have rather an educationally sound day. Just a pity mummy felt like a bag of wet potatoes all day!

Friday five….

This morning I woke mummy up with a kiss, then went to see Granny. It was 6.45 what else does she expect?

Granny and I ate breakfast, and then i watched some olympics and played in the lounge. At around 9.30 mummy came down stairs and helped me get ready for a day on the beach at Dinas with Granny.

Mummy dropped us off, andup camp just under the shadow of the iron age hill fort.

Dinas Dinlle Iron Age hillfort has been built on an isolated hill of glacial drift near the village of Llandwrog and has been eroded considerably by the sea. Originally, the fort was surrounded by two earthen ramparts with a deep ditch between. Where the defences survive, they are of impressive size, with an overall height of 6 meters. The interior of the fort contained circular buildings and other structures towards the eastern side. The site has not been fully excavated, but sherds of Roman pottery have been discovered in the past, suggesting occupation or reoccupation in the 2nd or 3rd centuries AD. A large mound in the north-east corner may be a Bronze Age barrow. This description is based on: Frances Lynch, A Guide to Ancient and Historic Wales: Gwynedd, 2nd edn, (London: HMSO, 2001), pp. 74-75.

I played in the sand dunes, and did cooking on the beach for my “big up to the sky suzie” I also enjoyed a teacake with granny and mummy bought me a new bucket and spade.

Although it was windy, with a windbreak up and long trousers it was good fun today.

After a day on the beach, granny went home and I went to bed early again. I love all this great time we get to have outside in the summer.

Now if anyone knows anything about a wreck on the beach… please let me know!

My own home.

My own home, my own home
My own home, my own home

Father’s hunting in the forest
Mother’s cooking in the home
I must go to fetch the water
‘Til the day that I’m grown
‘Til I’m grown, ’til I’m grown
I must go to fetch the water
‘Til the day that I’m grown

Then I will have a handsome husband
And a daughter of my own
And I’ll send her to fetch the water
I’ll be cooking in the home
Then I’ll send her to fetch the water
I’ll be cooking in the home

So can you guess what I have been watching today with A ?

another clue?

Colonel Hathi’s March

Hup two three four
Keep it up two three four
Hup two three four
Keep it up two three four
Company sound off!

Ho, the aim of our patrol
Is a question rather droll
For to march and drill
Over field and hill
Is a military goal!
Is a military goal!

Hup two three four
Dress it up two three four
Hup two three four
Dress it up two three four

By the ranks or single file
Over every jungle mile
Oh we stamp and crush
Through the underbrush
In a military style!
In a military style!

Hup two three four
Keep it up two three four

I know you really know now.. but just in case :

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life

Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn't be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin' in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few

The bare necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you!

Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
That's why a bear can rest at ease
With just the bare necessities of life

Now when you pick a pawpaw
Or a prickly pear
And you prick a raw paw
Next time beware
Don't pick the prickly pear by the paw
When you pick a pear
Try to use the claw
But you don't need to use the claw
When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw
Have I given you a clue ?

The bare necessities of life will come to you.
They'll come to you!
