Well for us it has.. I am totally bed bound these days, and most of my day is spent trying to avoide the pain of the environment. Enviromental sensitivity is a massive problem for me, at the moment, noise, sound movement and light all effects my body and makes my body feel as if i have had a tonne of sugar, but at the same time i am exhausted and often dizzy, or even being sick, with my head in a bowl. This is how i spend most of my days. If i am lucky i may be able to post to my fb, wall, using my phone, and steve has set me an app up now so i can post to familytree house more easily.. It can also confuse me and frustrate me, as everything races around me, and its a sensory overload..

So why has today been so hectic? Well i finally fell asleep at gone half 6 this morning, having had massive sickness and body temp fluctuations in the night. My carer came and changed me this morning, and my prescription is still in the back of the pharmacy van, which has broken down.. This is essential medication! After over 12 months of asking, were finally getting medical waste bags, which means, our wheelie bin wont be full of my continence pads any more, yes i am double y incontinent due to ME . My gp took away with him a copy of ‘ voices from the shadows’ on tuesday, its an excellent video on the true impact of severe ME on human life. We got a phone call to say friends are coming to visit. I can normally only manage a short visit, and when people live so far away..its hard to ask them to visit. It really does me good when they come though, and asha loves the company.

Asha has had a tough two years, but she has coped very well, thanks to having a brilliant father, us having a few very good friends, and a home edd group who have constantly offered her support and a safe place to play. She is involved with the young carers now, and on saturday, is looking forwards to a trip to the zoo. On tuesday she starts her manderin lessons. And this friday is off to visit some friends with steve. She has played at home for a lot of the last two years, but she is happy, and although at times, weve considered school or flexi school for her, she has flatly refused such ideas.

She has recently been delving through beanos, and harry potter videos, like a child possed, luckily for us, a large second hand dealer, has kept up our trade relationship, and weve managed to get hold of old beanos at a reasonable price to satisfy her hunger! She also went through a massive myths buster obsession and was fascinated by the victorian era for a while.

We have played some new board games, and card games.. Happy Families, PIT, close the box. We have been on extended visits to areas such as llangollen, and Bala. We have mastered the Nintendo DS (well Asha has) We have played outside, we have played indoors.. We have faced our fear of dogs, and can now play with 4 dogs, rather than run away from them.. and are on our way to getting used to a lovely soft puppy, newfoundland… He wont be small for long!

Yesterday we played with friends at one of the home edd groups, and climbed trees..and swung on rubber tyres (as you do)

Photo of Asha, taken by A. Munro, with thanks..

We have also spent time just playing and being quiet, listening to audio books, and chilling out.. Loads of visiting of friends and just well you know.. being busy!

A few things have happened here which to be honest, have made me feel very sad, and not like posting on Family tree house..

However now, we are moving forwards, Asha has had a LOVELY birthday with new friends at two new Home Education Groups and met up with some of her friends locally from CLAS.

We have been playing LOADS of board and card games lately, she really enjoys the RSPB bird card game, a flowers card game and an 1970′s card game called “around the world”

For her birthday we also bought her a co-operative game called “princesses” we have played it a few times, and we all enjoy it.

Yesterday we had a wet day on Anglesey with some lovely friends, and today we have been and got my wing mirror replaced.. yes it got smashed again :/

The famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford is in llangollen. It is on the main canal, and one of the Home Education Groups, based near LLangollen had organised a trip in one of the Horse Drawn Canal Boats.

I have a couple of books about Canals which i shall read to her this week.

She also enjoyed seeing the cows in the fields close up, and the ducks in the weir.. it was lovely, and a pity we didnt have more time at the aqueduct to just sit.. but there is always a next time!

Feeling the drive there and back, was a bit much (we would have had to have left before 8 am to arrive there on time) One of the lovely home education families kindly invited us to stay.. It was amazingly kind of them, and we really do appreciate there generosity, and kindness.

Asha has also thrived on three days of socialisation, which means she really is ready for a few days at home again….

We arranged with a few little friends to go llama trekking at Black Rock Sands.. The weather on leaving here was blowing a gale, and pouring down, but typically in Portmadog, it was Sunny and Dry.

Asha chose to have the rather small and gentle Alpaca, ( (Vicugna pacos) is a domesticated species of South American camelid. It resembles a small llama in appearance. Alpacas are considerably smaller than llamas, and unlike llamas, alpacas were not bred to be beasts of burden but were bred specifically for their fiber. Alpaca fiber is used for making knitted and woven items, much as wool is.) to lead, and what a great choice it was!

She then changed to having a llama for a while… (

The llama (Lama glama) is a South American camelid, widely used as a pack and meat animal by Andean cultures since pre-hispanic times.

The height of a full-grown, full-size llama is between 1.7 meters (5.5 ft) and 1.8 meters (6 ft) tall at the top of the head.)

(At birth, a baby llama (called a cria) can weigh between 9.1 kilograms (20 lb) and 14 kilograms (30 lb))

And then decided that it would be kind to share the Alpaca with one of the little ones… who really was too small to manage her on her own!

After all children were suitably happy and exhausted we trundled off to the beach, for a play in the water and sand.. and a great time was had by all!

We had planned a lovely day at home, well Asha and Steve were having a lovely day at home, i was going to a drs appoitment, then to meet a friend for lunch, then joining Asha and Steve at home with a couple of little play mates, and we were going to have an easy afternoon.. Relaxing after a really hectic week..

The three girls however played with the horses all afternoon, quietly, and happily… I love pretend play!

The LEA however have decided differently and we had our first encouter with the LEA.. and to be honest I am not impressed!

Anyway, Asha still had a lovely play with U, and F and E. But the adult stress levels were not as relaxed as planned!… GRrrrrr

Tonight, we went to the poling booth, and asha put both our votes into the booth for us, and we talked about elections and why we vote…
