Steve has done some tidying up and has sat and watched tv and knitted, un interrupted, i am sure the head space will have done him a lot of good, he has also tidied up, a bit.

I have my normal carer back here, after her lazy weeks holiday. I am so pleased she has stopped for a few days. Her having a bit of a quiet time at work, wont harm her. She has been ran ragged for a while now. She is bringing a new carer with her monday morning… Well new to me… I so don’t like getting new carers, but it has to happen. After a tough week on the sickness front, i’m feeling a lot brighter today, have managed to eat all three meals, and some fruit.

I really need to get steve onto apple about a screen cover for my ipad, so its even less glared.. Must remind him, as it really does hurt my eyes soo much still… I have it as dark as we can get it in the settings.

Steve and Asha were invited to a friends today so steve could learn to knit, he is very pleased with his progress on this front. They also went to get my meds from the pharmacists, its good not feeling sick for a while, though my stomach is still sore. Asha is very excited about her trip tomorrow.

We were also visited by a lovely friend, who calls in when she is up this way, its always beautiful to see her, and i really appreciate her kindness to us all. Those chats keep me strong, at times. Its such an isolating illness.

My main carer has been off for a week, the cover has worked very hard to try and make things as easy as possible for us all, she really has risen to a difficult challenge well, and deserves to be very proud of herself. It will be good to have my main carer back tomorrow, just because she is quiet, and less bustley, but the council carers are trying there best to meet my very complex needs. Next week we start training up a new girl, to replace my 25 th carer, in the last 25 months, hopefully that turn around will slow down generally now though….we will see;)

Had another letter about my esa….. Sigh… Wonder which bit of ‘cannot make or take phone calls…’ oh to be well again.

We have also had a few long journeys to home edd activities, which all take there toll on me, but we are getting slowly better..Asha enjoyed another party yesterday and is continuing to enjoy her new friends. We have been to see some of them at a CAMP and were having a fabulous time as a family right now..

I just wish i wasnt as ill…

However now, we are moving forwards, Asha has had a LOVELY birthday with new friends at two new Home Education Groups and met up with some of her friends locally from CLAS.

We have been playing LOADS of board and card games lately, she really enjoys the RSPB bird card game, a flowers card game and an 1970′s card game called “around the world”

For her birthday we also bought her a co-operative game called “princesses” we have played it a few times, and we all enjoy it.

Yesterday we had a wet day on Anglesey with some lovely friends, and today we have been and got my wing mirror replaced.. yes it got smashed again :/

After lunch, and after the css and html had been put to bed, Asha, Steve and I headed once more over to Dinas, to enjoy the later afternoon sun, and the tranquility of an empty beach once more..

We found another dead crab,  which had lost its shell, so Asha wanted us to dig it a grave and bury it.. So we did..

She then enjoyed a time paddling with Daddy, and splashing about in the COLD water.

After CLASS we went to Beddgert for Fish and Chips.

We had planned on an evening on the beach, but the wind was cold, so we headed off to the warmth of the valley. We went for a slow stroll to the grave of Beddgellrt after our food, and Asha and I looked at the lichen on the trees. All the photos in this post are thanks to Paula…

We got up fairly late for Asha (7.45) and had a selection of presents in bed.. including Old Bear, a Diablo,  an air ambulance helicopter, and a toy caravan!

We then had a cooked breakfast, and after feeding the birds, with the new bird feeder, went to meet granny and grandad to get the train up snowdon.

The weather today was glorious, and the scenery was magnificant, wales at its best. After our trip up, we went and opened presents from granny and grandad by the river, and daddy had to go waterproof dipping (yep a coat fell in the river) . After a while the midgies came out, so we took refuge at Lake Padarn, and fed the ducks, and swans, followed by a trip to Petes eats, and birthday cake.

A great time was had by Asha.. who is now asleep, very happy.

After our rather successfull, but demading tutorial, for our welsh course, Steve and I both took it in turns to fall asleep at home. I needed it.

Asha did some maths, and puzzles on the PC. To be honest i know she did some mazes, and she did some drag and drop jigsaws. I also saw her having some books read out to her. She has really become a dab hand at using these programmes, and even the older Piglet game, she is managing to enjoy. We just need to get her to understand how to start the shutting down process a little bit better, though she is getting there!

She is using dvd’s for 5+ now. Which considering two months ago, she rarely had used a pc, and the fact that most days she still dosn’t, I am really impressed with her progress. I never mention it, and she seems to use it about twice a week.

After a couple of hours – far too much computers really.. but she did run around between games, and do forwards rolls and stuff as well, we read some poetry, from a book i had as a little one : Never wear your wellies in the house. It certainly made her laugh. We then read that classic – Everybody poos.. and we finished off with an introduction to the world of the collins childrens dictionary. She loved asking me to find words for her.. and seems to have grasped what its for. She has also taken it to bed!

I guess if I spent time recording what Asha did throughout a day, my record would be amazing. As for today, although we were out for 9.30 and not home untill 1. I know she did stories, did computing, did gymnastics and dancing. She also did reading, and imaginative play with her rocking horse and her horse on a stick – i cant rember the technical term- she also covered daddy up when he fell asleep, and helped me to clear the table after dinner. She was playing in the do room for a while, but i dont actually know what she was playing. But she is always learning, and she is always a sponge.. Education? Asha is happy, she is aware of her enviroment, and is keen on nature. What else can one want for a child?
