Happy Birthday Asha
Yep she was 5 today, and we had a wonderful day on snowdon.
We got up fairly late for Asha (7.45) and had a selection of presents in bed.. including Old Bear, a Diablo, an air ambulance helicopter, and a toy caravan!
We then had a cooked breakfast, and after feeding the birds, with the new bird feeder, went to meet granny and grandad to get the train up snowdon.
The weather today was glorious, and the scenery was magnificant, wales at its best. After our trip up, we went and opened presents from granny and grandad by the river, and daddy had to go waterproof dipping (yep a coat fell in the river) . After a while the midgies came out, so we took refuge at Lake Padarn, and fed the ducks, and swans, followed by a trip to Petes eats, and birthday cake.
A great time was had by Asha.. who is now asleep, very happy.

Just pottering along.
Its Saturday. Steve and I had uni this morning, Asha went on a play date to J. She loves playing with A , E and K. Asha is one of these children, who when she is content, and feels safe somewhere, she will just get on with playing. Like me, Asha feels safe at J’s house.
After our rather successfull, but demading tutorial, for our welsh course, Steve and I both took it in turns to fall asleep at home. I needed it. Read the rest of this entry »

What did you learn in school today?
Now have you noticed how we once more are losing our freedoms… balliffs, internet, contact point for our children.. database id, cards…..
Peter “Pete” Seeger (born May 3, 1919) is an American folk singer, political activist, and a key figure in the mid-20th century American folk music revival. A fixture on nationwide radio in the 1940s, he also had a string of hit records during the early 50s as a member of The Weavers, most notably the 1950 recording of Leadbelly’s “Goodnight, Irene” that topped the charts for 13 weeks in 1950.[1] As a result of an anti-communist blacklist, his career as a mainstream performer was seriously curtailed. In the 1960s, he re-emerged on the public scene as a pioneer of protest music in support of international disarmament and civil rights and, more recently, as a tireless activist for environmental causes.

On Christmas Eve, after we all had our baths, the three of us sat down to a big pan of stew, and pulled some crackers. Asha, and I then had a long story session, which lead to Asha falling asleep unusually early.
This is just a cute photograph of her with one of her teddy’s which she has decided to name Hoopy!

Christmas shopping.
Asha received an early christmas present today – Money in her christmas card from Granny. So
As we were going christmas shopping today anyway, we let her spend it in home and bargain, which was the first shop we went to.
The result? Asha went around, Tescos, Home and Bargain, Cash and Carry, and sat in the car happily whilst i went into morrisons!
She couldnt actually play with the two dolls she bought, as they were so fastened into the packaging, but she still sat, talked to them, nursed the packaging and enjoyed herself, inbetween shops! … Now considering yesterday she had a filthy cold.. I think this is pretty good going!

Hello World!
We have moved house. We have space to play and privacy to do what we want.
Asha is 100 times happier than we have seen her for a long time.
We have painted, played bump, fed the birds, made magic gardens, cleaned the cat tray, done the vacume cleaning, had friends around to play and basically had a ball of a time so far.
I hope to get some pictures up soon. However we have fantastic views to the front, and a mountain garden to the back.

I am asleep… cant you tell!
Asha slept well last night, which has made this morning far easier for me. I was left praying last night as I was so exhausted, that she would sleep and she did… I am not religious.. but just in case.. THANKYOU GOD! – manners never cost anything do they
Anyway, I have packed Asha and Steve off with J to CLAS. Thanks J. Has any ever told you your a hugh STAR. And although I have know you less than a year your also probably one of my best friends now as well! – now is this a good thing????
So I was back home for around 12. and have washed the few dishes in the kitchen, cleaned the cat tray. Made a coffee. Realised i need to make those phone calls, and made a coffee.
However I am meant to be sleeping.. Cant you tell!
On leaving Asha at J’s today I told her I am going now, and that I love her.. her reply. “GOOD” now is that good that i love her, or good that i was going? Anyway a moment later she ran to me for a kiss.. then went off again. I love my little daughter, she is sooo content!
right I am now having a drink, then making those phone calls. I am sure Asha and Steve will be loving CLAS by now, and hopefully R and her children from Gymnastics will find the hall as well!

None stop asha!
Wakes up at 6 am.. demanding breakfast. Daddy to the rescue.
7.30 mummy can hear her dancing and singing downstairs. So resigned to the fact of Asha wont be quiet drags herself out of bed. 8.30 were on our way to swimming lessons.
10. o’clock very proud of herself Asha ends lesson and we head home.
11. does some maths with her abacus.
11.40 makes a lift the flap book about swimming
12.40 lunch
1. 50 is current doing glass painting downstairs.
…followed by more adding up with abacus, followed by painting a chimp mask, and every five seconds being Asked where GRANNY is and being told she is naughty. Its 3.07, time we are normally trying to wind Asha down and no sign of granny I am NOT amused.
Considering for the last three nights Asha has been in bed for 6 this is not fair nor funny.

Day Trip…..
Granny came up by bus and train for the day.
Asha enjoyed the attention and company for such activites as jumping on the trampoline – she enjoyed showing granny forwards rolls
Asha also did some painting, and got Granny to paint a picture of a house, with potatoes falling from the sky..
Anyway, apart from reading to granny, and having a new Margaret Tempset book, Asha enjoyed the time with Granny. And when she went, she was quite upset.
Tonight, I asked Asha why granny had come to see her, she replied ” to look after me, so you could get those silly jobs done in the kitchen”. Out of the mouths of babes!

Grannys here
When I woke this morning I jumped on daddy before toddling off to see where granny was sleeping. I soon had her up and dressed..
Eventually with a bit of help from mummy I too got dressed and mummy sent me out with Granny to keep granny out of mischief.. As if!
I went to the warren swimming pool with granny today. We also went on the beach and i had a beef burger at parc glasfryn with Granny.
This evening mummy and daddy let me stay up late, though daddy regretted it as i couldnt settle for bed. I did however get to play with Ff and D which was good fun.
Mummy even let Ff come inside to play.
Tonight mummy and I looked at the shells we picked of the beach on Wednesday. I think I may make a picture with them tomorrow.

Tuesday.. what did we do?
O.k. Asha had a hospital appoitment, which she wasnt very keen about.. fair enough, I dont like blood tests either!
Anyway she did really well, although she didnt think she was brave because she didnt like having her blood taken.. We tried to explain that she didnt have to like it to be brave!
I have to say the childrens ward at Bangor hospital is VERY well equipped!
After a trip to the hospital we went into bangor, and bought Asha some hair things from Claires, she thought they were brilliant, I tend to agree. We had pizza for lunch, as a big treat.
Once home she soon settled for the night, after a big dinner of pasta and sausage and luckily slept through as i was exhausted.

Friday five….
This morning I woke mummy up with a kiss, then went to see Granny. It was 6.45 what else does she expect?
Granny and I ate breakfast, and then i watched some olympics and played in the lounge. At around 9.30 mummy came down stairs and helped me get ready for a day on the beach at Dinas with Granny.
Mummy dropped us off, andup camp just under the shadow of the iron age hill fort.
Dinas Dinlle Iron Age hillfort has been built on an isolated hill of glacial drift near the village of Llandwrog and has been eroded considerably by the sea. Originally, the fort was surrounded by two earthen ramparts with a deep ditch between. Where the defences survive, they are of impressive size, with an overall height of 6 meters. The interior of the fort contained circular buildings and other structures towards the eastern side. The site has not been fully excavated, but sherds of Roman pottery have been discovered in the past, suggesting occupation or reoccupation in the 2nd or 3rd centuries AD. A large mound in the north-east corner may be a Bronze Age barrow. This description is based on: Frances Lynch, A Guide to Ancient and Historic Wales: Gwynedd, 2nd edn, (London: HMSO, 2001), pp. 74-75.

I played in the sand dunes, and did cooking on the beach for my “big up to the sky suzie” I also enjoyed a teacake with granny and mummy bought me a new bucket and spade.
Although it was windy, with a windbreak up and long trousers it was good fun today.
After a day on the beach, granny went home and I went to bed early again. I love all this great time we get to have outside in the summer.
Now if anyone knows anything about a wreck on the beach… please let me know!

Fun day at Penrhyn…
granny met us in Bangor and then we headed off to Penrhyn Castle for the fun day.Asha was quite tired, but she managed to make a wonderfull sand bottle.
Needs : chalks, small funnel, plastic bottle small, salt, and a container.
Put a little bit of salt (about a table spoon) in the bottom of a plastic tray.
Use chalks to colour in salt.
Pour salt into bottle.
repeat above with different colours.
Use some old plastercine to plug bottle top.
After enjoying herself doing this, she then watched the punch and judy Mr bimbamboozle show which she loved.
We came home shortly after as Asha was exhausted. She sat with granny, had a bath, ate her tea and then went to bed.

Didnt we have a lovely day the day we went to Bangor.
After a small lie in, we trapsed down to pwhelli, as the post office Van had forgoten to arrive on time last wednesday. After some food, in our normal cafe in Pwhelli we then did a back road drive to Caernarfon, then approaching Caernarfon there was a queue of traffic so we diverted again, and arrived in Bangor for a trip to the Pier. Followed by a visit to friends.
Bangor Pier was re-opened in 1988. Almost 100 years after it was first built.
pdf done on history of Bangor Pier here.
Asha enjoyed herself, playing on the Pier and doing forwards rolls and handstands allong the length of the Pier. She was greatly amused at having a wee wee and watching the water underneath her feet whilst she did it!
There was loads of kids crabbing along the lenght of the pier and they were all catching things, and there was some lovely sailing boats sailing past.
The view of the Menai was clear and beautifull, and it was lovely.
After our trip, we left Asha with L, F and J who Asha loves, and had a great time with whilst we dealt once more with the DWP.

Energy
Still taking it easy today. That said we went shopping at around 1pm and by 2pm I was making a roast dinner. Asha really liked hers and ate quite a bit of it. She wanted extra helpings of gravy and another roast potato. It was really nice. We have lost the kitchen again though.
Asha also started eating wheat and gluten today and for the next 2 weeks. This is so the doctors can work out if she is Coeliac.

Monday,
We had planned to go to grannys early Monday morning, but Asha woke up at 9 pm on Sunday night and couldnt get back to sleep. So a quick phone call and we drove to Grannys. Asha stayed awake untill gone 1 am.
Monday morning, she was up bright and early, so we let her play at grannys, playing with grandad, and enjoying breakfast with granny and grandad. After a morning in the house, and visits from assorted people – Mrs C, Auntie Trish, she had a bath and went to bed. Exhausted.
