Catch up mummy including oxford.
So I look at familytreehouse, and realise we havent written down half of what we have been doing for the last two weeks. Why? because we have been so busy, doing nothing
Granny was 65.
Daddy was 6 – well that’s what he says :d
We did painting and made cardboard animals at C.L.A.S
We made food, and cooked.
We made goats milk cheese – yummy.
We went shopping.
We sat and watched Mary Poppins.. (what a great film!)
We discussed chimney sweeps, musicals, dancing… and asha wants to return to ballet – so we shall ![]()
We have played ball, made bags out of felt, managed to jump down firemans poles unaided!!!
We have started to recognise D,B,S,M,A in capital letters and small letters. Expertly!
We have drawn pictures of flaminogoes, daffodils, puffins, grandads, and made dens and nests.
We have talked about the moon and the sun. How to make electricity, Why people need glasses, Why people live and die, what the difference is between a leaf eater bee and a bumble bee. The difference between wild and domestic animals….
We have practiced ballet, and drawing. We have made mud pies, eaten in restaurants. Tried oysters, and scallops.
Seen Oxford, Stratford, and slept at uncle andrews house. In fact all things considered, its no wonder i cant remeber what we have done this last few weeks, as all I have wanted to do is sleep, sleep sleep!
We have read books, and discussed the moon, time, our bodies, and why we have skin. We have talked about why some animals have fur (like cats) and some have a hide (like rino’s)
And to add to this medley of life, Steve has read her Jonathan Livingstone Seagull !

A quiet day (almost) at home (we did pop to the shops)
I have been wondering what Asha acheives during a quiet day at home, so today.. I am going to list what she has done in one of her slouch days at home..

9 am sitting at home drinking tea with mummy and daddy at kitchen table, having poured her own milk and tea into a cup.
10 am we were in pwhelli, and she was helping Daddy doing the shopping.. and finding her own buscuits so she could put three packets in the basket!
12.30 Exhausted sits on sofa. Eatting lunch.
1 pm Asks if she could have some cbeebies on. We said yes, as she hasnt had them on since the middle of last week.
1.30 Asks if she can help daddy to peal carrots using a potatoe peeler . daddy lets her, and is pleasanty surprised with the effect!.. thats carrots pealed.
3 pm, comes and helps me, and we read meg and mog book in her play room.
4 pm. goes out side to play with neighbours children. Plays on bikes, football and with the younger children as well. When they go in she comes and does some face painting.
5.oo has roast dinner.
5.45 Goes back out for a little while, to play on her own gets very wet and wind blown. Playing at fixing her bike which isnt really broken.
6.15 Comes in for a deep bath and hair wash, with toys.
7.oclock. has three stories read to her : I dont like it – ruth brown, Alfies Feet – Shirley Hughes, After the storm – Nick butterworth. Then goes up to bed, where daddy reads some Uncle Remus tales.

Not bad for a lazy day at home is it!
(oh and some stage we got a dance show in there as well, but I cant remeber where it fell in to the day now.. but she did do her small dance show!)

Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery
Gwynedd Council have announced plans to close the Museum in Bangor,
The aim of Gwynedd Museum and Art Gallery is to contribute towards the understanding of the history and culture of Gwynedd and its people by collecting, caring for and by providing access to its collections so that everyone can share its rich heritage.”
This is Gwynedd’s only general museum. Learning about the ways of life led by previous generations helps us to place our own experiences in the context of an unfolding story. This understanding enriches our lives. Which part of the collection will be of interest to you ? Every visitor will leave with a particular memory of a favourite object. What will yours be?
ref : http://www.gwynedd.gov.uk/ Feb 2008
To enable them to save £60,000. This will mean the closure of North Wales
oldest museum, the loss of several jobs and untold damage to the local
heritage, tourist industry and economy as well as cultural life in the
county.
There is now a web site set up, to set a pettition about this, if you feel you want to sign it please do so!

Fee Fie Foe Fum
Since I sat and enjoyed the presentation last Saturday off Jack and The Beanstalk I have been trying to find out more about this great classic.
Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum!
I smell the blood of an Englishman.
Be he ‘live, or be he dead,
I’ll grind his bones to make my bread.
I am interested in knowing where its from, and so far I know its either of German origin or possibly british… (note british… dont know where in britain)
The earliest printed edition which I have found is the 1807 book The History of Jack and the Bean-Stalk, printed by Benjamin Tabart, There is also a burlesque of the story entitled The Story of Jack Spriggins and the Enchanted Bean was included in the 1734 second edition of Round About Our Coal-Fire.
Since researching it I have discovered the migration of the celts and Germans.. but little about Jack!
Isnt research fantastic!

The Old Bag Woman
You know the one in dinner ladies – Brens Mum
Well last weekend I was like here, but rather than looking a mess, I just felt it.. I was screaming at my father across a bloody car park, as I had struggled to get the van out of our front – due to the weather, i couldnt see out of a window, never mind a mirror!
then when we got to the car park, which is EXCEPTIONALLY tight – if anyone knows where the car park is in Pwhelli opposite the theater / library you will know the one – LWB van.. tight corner, and there is a VAN parked opposite! I noticed on the way in, I wouldnt be able to get out, as everyone was dropping of kids etc at the Theater, so had to park.. Couldnt see properly as annoyed idiot behind me was blinding me with his head lights, although I had flicked my mirror.
Turned wrong way.. two holes to reverse into.. both nearly impossible.. Father who is 70, but I get frightened when he drives my van.. offered to park me.. I screached at him ” No I bloody do not want your fucking help”
Woops.. I guess I need to tell my GP that I need pain killers whether he thinks so or not, as I cant sleep without them at the moment.. I dont normally take them that often, but lately I have really needed some and current GP isnt very helpfull on this front.

The Show Must Go On
Asha spent most of the weekend either dancing, trying to sleep, eating or just being very tired… But the show was FANTASTIC.
Penguins for her TAP and Ugly Bug Ball for her ballet, and just happy to have stayed awake for the finale!
The first night we had a hiccup as she helped herself to some popcorn, but she only had a small amount, so her excema isnt too bad.. – but its bad enough. She thought that as she can have the stuff we make her, she could have the one in the boxes they were all making – poor thing
As normal she was fairly good about it. – As good as a three year old can be about these things anyway !!! After that i decided I wasnt happy leaving her with all the kids, and the mums with me not there, so I stayed with her for the next half of the show and the following night. But with a lot of changes of clothes, I got to see most of the show.
Miss T was fantastic. She delt with all crying children, as and when it happened, even though she had three dressing rooms to deal with, and stage side! He older students were also fantastic, and the little ones were amazing.
I was sad we werent allowed to take photos, but hopefully S will manage to get some on line in next few days of Asha in her dragonflys costume… If B.W ever looks in she may recognize some of it!

Leaving Grannies
When we got up this morning, Grannys Doggy was ill. Poor Hata.
Uncle Andrew and Granny took him to the vets. Everyone was sad, and worried.
When they come home, he bounced in through the door though. Silly doggy!
Meg and I went for a long walk through Brotherton Park. We picked up some Walnut shells.

After lunch, we altered the puppets from last nights crackers and mad a puppet show, taking the story from Winnie the pooh. Mummy read from Pooh Bear, Meg played most of the characters, and I was a rather bouncy Tigger.
At night, Michelle and Alistair came and we did a performance, it was great fun. After that we did a rather fast drive home.
