THE BUGROVI SISTERS were also inspirational, as were the trapeze artists, (The Bull Dancers) however I did feel sick watching them doing tripple summersaults in the air.

We took Asha to see a friend in a Pantomime today in Ellesmere port, at the civic hall.

Although during parts of it Asha was very upset, she did say on the way home she loved it, wants to see it again, and thought G was very very funny in it!

Asha also enjoyed seeing Granny and Grandad I think!

Tonight when we got home Asha enjoyed playing around with a torch, making shadows. After a few minutes I found some work sheets to formalise this exercise onto.. So today she has had a very educational day!

Yes, I know I havent been very good lately at providing a running commentry again of our day. why? Apart from the fact i feel awfull, Asha has been doing so much, and I just havent felt like spending time on the computer.

Anyway some fun things she has done:

Fungal forrage with friends at Moleci.

Swimming with friends at Portmadog.

A day at the beach – yes the second week in October! at Dinas.

Dutch Pancakes at a Tea Room near Snowdon.

A go on go-carts at parc Glasfryn.

Ride on her bike and on scooters in the road.

A trip to the play ground with J from CLAS.

A play date with R and A. – water bombs made, cutting out of words done.

A play date with T and R.G fed the ducks, and played with their dog.

Watched the Steam Train in Caernarfon.

Made bread rolls, very successfull they were as well!

Done more glass painting.

Completed a painting by numbers she started in August.

Plus so many other things, like swimming lessons, gymnastics, learning welsh, and being able to write her own name. Asha also drew a lovely picture of her daddy helping her to roller skate. She started wth the boots, drew her legs, then her body and arms and head, then she drew daddy.

Book wise, she has completed Toms Midnight Garden, and has been loveing the Medici Chidrens books lately. Not really wanting any other books to be read to her. I cant blame her really the stories are so gentle, and the illustrations so peacefull, they are a great bedtime story!

What a little hero she is. She loves it.

She rolled around, jumped around, followed the line around, played tick, and went on the horse thingy. She smiles, and lands with her hands together and has a great time.

I just hope she keeps on loving it!

The rest of the day wasnt as sucessfull, we think Asha is stuggling with milk and gluten in her diet, and as such is being a number one cling on. Which is tireing and hard work. Though she did play outside for a while with daddy, and she did have a small rest when we went for a drive, as she was so tired.

Education done today. Not loads, but we have talked, we have read a few stories and we did look at a big plan of a human body, and talk about teeth, blood cells and veins. We also looked at where our hearts were… My child is 4, and knows more biology than I knew at 16!

Its actually very hard for Asha not to get an education in our house, as we have SO many books of all kinds lieing around.. and with her toys as well!!!!

Oh we also melted some chocolate and added corn flakes to it. We then made some pepermint iceing up, and dropped it into the chocolate crispy cakes. Its really interesting what then happens.. you have after eight choclate crisp cakes!

Oh and before bath, Asha also played with ff.

What did we do today then?

Another section of painting by number, no 33 was painted in her picture.

She decorated a plate which was a present she got for her birthday, which she enjoyed doing. In doing it, she learnt how to draw a basic flower, which she was VERY pleased with. Her copying skills have really erupted this week.

She copied the word Mummy out beautifully, and Asha. I will try and get a photograph of her work up this week sometime.

She sat and played in the lounge at making food, and copying letters using peices of wood. As the bits of the letters.

We read a Elmer the elephant book this morning which she loved.

We watched the closing ceremony of the olympic games and talked about Greece, and why the Greek flag was flown on the last day of the games.

greek flaf

We looked at the other flags flying – Peoples republic of China,

olympic rings

olympic flag and

union jack and said the significance of them. -

Asha wanted to know why the welsh dragon wasnt there… Umm anyone care explain!

Asha danced to the music, loved the big wheels the dancers the riding on and said she prefares gymnastics to the trapeze artists.. I was rather pleased about this!

She danced like the rather beautiful chinese dancers, and enjoyed herself.

So for a day which I felt awfull in, Asha seems to have rather an educationally sound day. Just a pity mummy felt like a bag of wet potatoes all day!

I Will Survive (the first year of homeschooling) *Or* any year homeschooling.
Originally written and produced by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris
Originally performed by Gloria Gaynor
Mercilessly altered with apologies by Natalie Criss

First I was afraid
I was petrified.
Kept thinking I could never teach
´Cause I´m not certified.
But we spent so many nights
Reteaching homework that was wrong.
I grew strong, so now I teach my kids at home!
We study maths and outer space.
I just kept on despite the fear with a big smile across my face.
I bought a set of Base Ten blocks.
I bought books with answer keys.
My parents think we´re nuts, but they don´t even bother me

Come on, let´s go walk out the door.
We´re on the road now, ’cause we´re not home much anymore
My friends would laugh and say we´d be unsocialized.
I heard one mumble that I´d give up by July.
Oh no, not I!
I will survive!
As long as I know how to read
I know we´ll be alright.
I’ve got all my life to learn.
I’ve got energy to burn.
and I’ll survive.
I will survive.

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart.
Decided to attend a play date at the local park,
and I met oh so many mums who offered eagerly to help.
They used to cry.
Now they hold their heads up high, and so do we!
My kids are cool!
They´re not those chained up little people stuck inside at school.
So if you feel like dropping by and just expect us to be free
you´d better call ahead first ´cause we´re probably busy!

Thanks to all those who have posted this on home edd forums, world wide.
