John Wyndham
After struggling for a while to find a new or different author to read I decided in November to re-visit some of the works of John Wyndham.
Pen name for John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris (10 July 1903 – 11 March 1969).
I really enjoyed the golden eyes of “the middwich cuckoos” Although I am not someone who normally enjoys sci fi, i took a great deal of enjoyment out of this whole process.
When i first read the day of the triffids, following the TV series – which terrified me.. It put me right off his works.
Having re-read it, I enjoyed it, but felt that being made to read it at school was not appropriate.
I have the chrysalids still to read, and then I will be resorting back to my normal genre for a while. But I will be reading more of his works, and I will no longer glance past them in charity shops!
Further research however has shown him to have been prolific in his writing.
