Asha and I were watching something on discovery channel this morning about space travel. The narrator said that bones stopped growing in zero gravity. Asha looked shocked and said “Oh no! My legs have stopped growing!” I picked up a convenient stick from the wood pile and told her that if it falls to the floor then gravity is still working and her legs will keep growing. I dropped the stick and it reassuringly fell to the floor. I then explained that if the stick doesn’t fall to the floor then gravity would be broken. Naturally, Asha wanted to try with a different stick - I don’t think she always trusts me, you know. It fell to the floor.
Reality now secured for a while, I will go and make some coffee.
